Week two

As you can see in this weeks photo the inmates are enjoying their new home.

But in the underlying sub text people are starting to talk.....

Are some flowering too soon?
Have some spurt forward prematurely?
Will some out grow their pots?
Will others cope with being neglected?
When will the first dreaded disease and pesky pest appear?
Will the flowers be left alone for pollination to occur naturally or will some interfere with the pistils and stamen?

  1. With such amazing growth, we will have tomatoes in no time, so here's a recipe for using the first of your crop!

    Tomato Vinaigrette

    Ingredients:
    1 small tomato
    1 small shallot
    2 T olive oil

    1 T red wine vinegar
    1 T balsamic vinegar
    1 t sugar
1 t chopped fresh oregano leaves
2 t Dijon mustard with seeds
    1/4 t salt
    1/4 t ground black pepper

    Directions:
Peel tomato. Coarsely cut up tomato and shallot. In blender at medium speed, blend tomato, shallot, and remaining ingredients just until smooth. Makes about 1 cup. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 days.
